Wedding Weekend

This weekend I was honored to be a part of one of my closest friend's weddings. Amanda was one of my college roommates and we were friends practically from the first day at Texas A&M. Amanda and David got married on Saturday night in Dallas. Casey and I had a blast getting to see a few of my closest college friends and taking part in all of the festivities. The weekend began on Thursday night at a BBQ for Amanda and David's families and the wedding party hosted by our 41st and 43rd President's and their wives. Unfortunately Laura was gone on her book tour on Thursday night but made it back in time for the wedding on Saturday. Friday Amanda's sister and aunt hosted a lovely luncheon at Neiman Marcus' Zodiac Room and then David's family had a wonderful rehersal dinner at the Petroleum Club on Friday night. Finally the wedding came on Saturday night at the Arboretum which is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I wish Amanda and David all the best and want to thank them again for allowing me to be a part of their special day!

Sprinklers and Icing

In the past two months my "cookie business" has really picked up but I have been horrible in documenting all of my creations. This weekend I had two orders that I worked on so I finally took some pictures. When I wasn't baking/icing we were enjoying running through the sprinkler and enjoying this gorgeous weather!

Happy Easter and then some...

We started our Easter weekend with a family tradition of a great crawfish boil on Good Friday. We had a great day and were happy the Parsons Family came to join us with their two kiddos Addison and Graham. Ashton and Addison had a great time dying Easter eggs and playing with each other. The weekend was a great time spent with family from New Orleans and a lot of good food. Can't believe that at this time next year we will have a nine month old in tow!

One step forward, two steps back

Last weekend we one of those "firsts" that every parent looks forward too....Ashton used the potty! Now, while he hasn't repeated the event, I am excited to know he does know how to do it and hope that maybe it will happen again soon. After taking that big step forward, this weekend we started to prepare a little for the upcoming arrival of Baby Lee. A family friend made the bedding which turned out better than I could have imagined and I was so excited to see it in the crib. (I promise I will post pictures later) My wonderful husband took apart the bed that was in the baby's room and assembled the crib. We had two pieces of furniture painted a few weeks ago so I am starting to feel like the room is slowly coming together. When Casey was putting a few things in the attic he went ahead and got some baby stuff down including the swing. Ashton helped me to wash the swing seat and to disinfect the rest of it. Now that the crib and swing were back together what does Ashton want to do? Sit in the crib and then not want to get out. Once I coax him out of that bed I went and started a load of laundry....when I come out, what do I find? My two year old sitting in the swing with a huge grin on his face. First the crib and then the swing? Casey and I tried to tell Ashton that he didn't like either of those when he was a baby! Oh well, we had heard this may happen so I guess it is better to have it happen now than when there is someone actually needing to use those things in the future. (Pictures to come soon!)

Weekend Fun

This weekend was more of a low-key weekend around the Lee household. Casey and I had our ultrasound Friday to get a better glimpse of Baby Lee. We stayed strong and chose not to find out the sex of the baby even though my gut keeps saying boy. The ultrasound technician kept laughing the whole time saying she was having a hard time getting measurements because our sweet little baby kept moving around. She said this has to be one of the most active babies she has ever seen and at this rate we are going to have our hands full. Casey and I just looked at each other thinking, we already have a very active two year old so who knows what to expect come July. I am still hoping for a little snuggler at the end of the day but we shall see.

Ashton had been invited to a Birthday party at Pump-It-Up which he had an absolute blast at. He managed to leave there with bright red cheeks and a big smile on his face after two hours of bouncing, jumping and running around. It reminded me when I was a kid and how red my cheeks would get after playing soccer or volleyball. Ashton the managed to help his Daddy with some planting and then to help Mommy in the kitchen where he loves to cook up a storm. His new obsession is putting anything and everything he can find in the lower oven...oatmeal, playdough, wedding announcements, etc....you name it, he finds a way to cook it. We ended the weekend with a good snuggle session after his bath on Sunday night.

Update...finally!

Since I haven't posted in a very long time it feels too overwhelming to try and figure out where to begin. So to sum it all up this is what has happened....we had a wonderful Christmas spent with lots of family. Ashton really got into unwrapping presents this year and I am hopeful that next year he will begin to understand the real meaning of Christmas. We had extended Christmas you could say with my aunt and grandma coming to Houston to visit which was the biggest blessing we could have asked for since God called my Grandma home on January 9th, just shy of her 90th Birthday. Looking back I am beyond greatful for those last days we spent with her and will always cherish that time. We had a great visit with our family from Midland over New Years and always enjoy when they visit. In the last view weeks we traveled to New Orleans to say goodbye to Maw-Maw and to celebrate her life. What a woman of God, and a role model for all. We made a trip to the zoo, having been decorating some cookies with a great helper I might add. I celebrated my 28th Birthday and we are continuing to anticipate the arrival of our second child in July. I will leave you with a few pictures from the past months....
