Update...finally!

Since I haven't posted in a very long time it feels too overwhelming to try and figure out where to begin. So to sum it all up this is what has happened....we had a wonderful Christmas spent with lots of family. Ashton really got into unwrapping presents this year and I am hopeful that next year he will begin to understand the real meaning of Christmas. We had extended Christmas you could say with my aunt and grandma coming to Houston to visit which was the biggest blessing we could have asked for since God called my Grandma home on January 9th, just shy of her 90th Birthday. Looking back I am beyond greatful for those last days we spent with her and will always cherish that time. We had a great visit with our family from Midland over New Years and always enjoy when they visit. In the last view weeks we traveled to New Orleans to say goodbye to Maw-Maw and to celebrate her life. What a woman of God, and a role model for all. We made a trip to the zoo, having been decorating some cookies with a great helper I might add. I celebrated my 28th Birthday and we are continuing to anticipate the arrival of our second child in July. I will leave you with a few pictures from the past months....

Gobble Gobble

This weekend my project at hand was to make cookies for my second "client." Okay, it is a friend of my mom's who gave me a little boost in my new "business" and she requested pumpkins and turkeys for Thanksgiving. Having never made either before this is how they turned it....hope she is a satisfied customer. Ashton was right on hand to act as my official taste tester. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I miss my boys!

So Ashton took his first big trip with his Daddy off to Midland to spend a few days with his Grandparents while Casey goes hunting. They flew out on Friday and are not coming home to me until Wednesday which feels like an eternity! I am so thankful that Ashton gets to spend some quality time with all of Casey's family and I know he has a wonderful time every minute he gets to spend with them but this is the longest time I have not seen my sweet baby boy. I really am missing both of my boys! Can you blame me when you look at this sweet face? Oh Wednesday can't get here fast enough!

Happy Halloween...GO FISH!

Ashton had a great time going trick or treating this year and it really was the first year he seemed to enjoy going to houses and letting people give him candy. He was so excited he kept bringing both is orange and purple pumpkin to the doors trying to be sneaky to get double the loot! When it was all over he loved dumping his candy out on the floor and picking out the candy he wanted....his choice...DOTS! Apparently chocolate doesn't do it for him. We had a great time and look forward to many more Halloweens to come.

Our Little Saint

The Saints went to 5-0 today after beating the Giants and their number one fan was right there to show cheer for his team!

The Sweet Shop

This weekend Casey and I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for our dear friend's Patrick and Christi who are expecting their first daughter, Luci in December. We had a great time gathering to celebrate Luci upcoming arrival while watching the Texas/O.U. game. And yes...I am still an Aggie through and through but being married to a Longhorn I was happy to see them win. Posey did a fantastic job with the decoration turn her house into "Patrick and Christi's Sweet Shop" and even made a special drink, the "Lucitini" for the guest of honor. Overall I think the shower was a sucess and there wasn't any food left which is always a good thing. I also got to practice a little more on my labor of love (cookie making) and got to decorate some baby carriages, bottles and even a few longhorns. Now we just can't wait to meet Ms. Luci
in December.

Weekends catch up

This weekend Ashton was invited to a Birthday party at the zoo and had a great time! While Mommy was running the Race for the Cure with thousands and thousands of other people, Ashton and Daddy were busy getting close to goats, Lions, Tigers and Bears.

A couple weekends ago Casey's parents came to visit for a few days. Ashton had a great time hanging out with "Molly & Grandpa." Ashton is so lucky to grandparents who don't mind getting on the ground (literally) and doing whatever Ashton wants to do. (That goes for both sets of grandparents by the way) They went for bike and wagon rides, colored with sidewalk chalk, and played in Ashton's inflatable bounce house. We always have a great time when they come to visit and look forward to the next time.
